If you have been following me for sometime, you know that I have, what one may call, an obsession with The We Vibe Melt (if you’ve never heard of the toy, check out my article In March’s Issue of Smex Ed) . I bought the toy last year and from the first time I used it, I feel right the fuck in love. It was my first air pulse toy and although I have tried to search for alternatives (since it comes with a $150 price tag), a lot of them have fallen short.  

That was, until I reached out to Too Timid and asked the company rep if they carried a toy that they believed was comparable to The We Vibe Melt. I have worked with Too Timid in the past, I even wrote a Guided Masturbation piece for their website, and I have really enjoyed working with the women owned and operated business. 

They sent me information on their air pulse toy called, The Diosa.

THE DIOSA

THE REVIEW 

I am not going to sugar coat it, folks, I did not have high expectations for this toy. Not because of the quality or the distributor, both were great, but my bottom drawer is full of air suction toys that have been gifted or purchased that just never really held up to The Melt. However, a while back Too Timid sent me, The Banyu, and although it wasn’t as intense as The Melt, it definitely provided me with a lovely self pleasure experience.

Now a thing to know about the Diosa, it has one speed setting: intense. You can’t adjust the intensity setting, only the rhythmic patterns when using the toy. I had turned the toy on during an unboxing video on my Snapchat account, but didn’t realize the intensity level until the toy was “strapped on” to my clit. 

The toy immediately made my entire body buck forward, I might have even uttered the words “holy shit” once the toy was turned on. But let’s break down the logistics of the toy:

Pros:

• The buttons of the toy were easily accessible during the session which is a God send because a lot of toys are designed poorly when it comes to accessing the buttons while your in mid session 
• The rhythmic patterns are AMAZING. I am usually not one to go through all of the settings on a toy. I will explore them slightly, but I am a simple gal who likes, decrease and increase intensity in the same rhythmic pattern. But the patterns on this toy had me screaming (literally and figuratively.) Because you can’t decrease the intensity of the toy, the rhythmic patterns provide you a “break” in the intensity if your clit begins to become super sensitive (which it will.) My favorite one, hit you with an intense stimulation, paused for a second, hit you with a few more, and then paused for about 3 seconds before starting again. MOTHER OF PEARL, it was incredible. 
• The toy is INTENSE. It’s the first clit suction toy that I felt could actually hold up to the intensity of The Melt. It will have your toys curling in under a minute, no joke. But don’t let the intensity scare you, the sensation it provides is really nice. Yes, it’s intense, but it also is a sensation that is unlike any other toy I have tried. I’m unsure if it’s because of the nubs inside the toy or what, but it felt different from The Melt, in a good way. It was intense, but I used it for at least 5-10 minutes of solo play. The Melt is so intense, that I can barely use it for a solid 5 minutes. I preferred the feeling of the Diosa because it gave me more time to explore my body.
• It’s fairly quiet. I mean, if you used it in a silent room would you hear it, yes, but it is easily drowned out by some background noise: music, tv, a different part of the house, etc. 

CONS:

• It’s not waterproof, or it is, I am unsure. The website gives conflicting information. In its description it says that it is not waterproof, but below when you read the details at the bottom of the page it says it’s good for shower/bathtub play. I’m unsure of which it is and honestly, I love this toy so much, I don’t want to take the risk of trying to use it in the shower and the toy getting damaged. 
• Some may say that a con of the Diosa is that it only has one speed setting, that they would like to be able to “tame” the toy a bit to extend play. I don’t see this as a con personally, but listed it as such because I am aware that not everyone enjoys super intense toys. 

UPDATE: I have spoken to a Too Timid rep and the Diosa is indeed waterproof! They have updated their website to reflect it

I was so surprised by this toy, that I had to give it another try just to see if it truly was a match for The We Vibe (I live such a hard life, I know.) I wanted to make sure that the first time use wasn’t just a fluke. There have been times where I have used a toy once, and loved it, just to use it a second time and have a “this was what I was ranting about ” moment. You know what I am talking about, the moment where a toy has hit you right for THAT moment due to the mood you were in, how aroused you were before, etc, but it was just for that specific moment. 

The second time playing with the toy was just as good, if not better than the first. I knew what the toy was capable of and the rhythmic settings in advance, so I relaxed, turned the toy on, and let it work its magic. It was incredible. 

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Diosa has earned its way into my regular toy rotation. Honestly, it might be my new favorite toy. I love The Melt, but there are times where the intensity is so much that it rushes the experience of solo play. It gets me off so quickly and makes my clit so ridiculously sensitive that I literally can not continue. The Melt is great for a quickie solo play session while my partner is out and about, but the Diosa provides both, quick release, but also intensity that is more bearable for longer durations.  

All in all 10 out of 10 would highly recommend, plus it’s A LOT cheaper than The Melt. The Melt comes with a hefty price tag of $150, which is well spent, but let’s be real, not everyone has the ability to shell out that amount of money for a toy. The Diosa is equal in quality for a much lower price, coming in at $79.95.
